Hall of Distinction
CRITERIA AND GUIDELINES FOR HALL OF DISTINCTION
SELECTION
The following criteria shall be used by the Hall of
Distinction Selection Committee as MINIMUM
qualifications during the evaluation of nominations and
in formulating its recommendations.
Distinguished Alumnus or Alumna
- Must be a graduate or former student of Arkansas Tech
University
- Must not have been actively enrolled as an
undergraduate student at the University within the 15
year period immediately prior to nomination.
- Must have a record of distinction in his or her chosen
profession as recognized by contemporaries.
- Must have a demonstrated record of service at the
state or national levels.
- Must be a person of unquestioned integrity and
reputation.
- Must have demonstrated continuing interest in Arkansas
Tech University through a commitment of time, talent or
financial resources.
Alumni Service Award
- Must be a graduate or former student of Arkansas Tech
University.
- Must demonstrate exceptional personal commitment to
the University expressed through service that is
significant to the mission of Arkansas Tech University.
Outstanding Young Alumnus
- Must be a graduate or former student of Arkansas Tech
University.
- Must have been actively enrolled as an undergraduate
student at Tech within the 15 year period immediately
prior to nomination.
- Must have demonstrated exceptional accomplishment in
professional, cultural or civic affairs on the state or
national level.
- Must have demonstrated continuing interest in Arkansas
Tech University through a commitment of time, talent or
resources.
Distinction in Intercollegiate Athletics
- Must have been a player or coach in an intercollegiate
sport officially sponsored by Arkansas Tech University.
- If a player, must have achieved recognition beyond the
campus, such as All District, All Conference or All
American honors.
- If a Coach, must have been recognized by his or her
peers at the state, conference, regional or national
level, i.e., coach of the year, etc.
- Must have completed his or her athletic career at Tech
at least 15 years prior to the nomination.
- Must have demonstrated admirable character in all
phases of life and career.
- Evidence of continuing commitment to Arkansas Tech
University.
Distinguished Service Award for Non-Alumnus
- Must have demonstrated significant service that has
unquestionably advanced the mission of Arkansas Tech
University
